Therapy Services
As a psychotherapist, I specialize in the treatment of panic disorder, agoraphobia, and depression. I combine Gestalt Therapy techniques alongside holistic approaches toward therapy that provide alternatives to medication. Although medication is helpful for mental health symptoms, it typically does not address the root of the issues experienced.

I understand that most people do not want to be on medication for the rest of their life and I'll work with you every step of the way to address the roots of the issues and help create peace if you suffer with mental health issues. My goal is to empower my clients and help them make meaningful change in their lives.
Gestalt Therapy
In a world of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy being the self-proclaimed "king" of therapy techniques, I utilize a more specialized Gestalt perspective. Developed by Fritz Perls in the 1930s, Gestalt Therapy encourages mindful awareness of one's self while focusing on the here and now. Gestalt Therapy recognizes the emotions we feel about the past and the anxieties we have about the future, but focuses on what we feel and what we believe in the current moment.
Although I have years of experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, I have found it to be too rigid for meaningful change. If you are someone who has struggled with therapists utilizing CBT techniques in the past, I would be honored to be the therapist that is given a chance to help you one more time. Together, we will collaborate to identify unhelpful patterns of thinking and develop practical strategies to change them.
Agoraphobia
By the book, agoraphobia is a complex anxiety disorder that is characterized by fear of situations or places that may be challenging to escape or where help might not be readily available. Individuals with agoraphobia often experience intense anxiety or panic attacks when faced with these situations, leading them to avoid them altogether.

Agoraphobia is when you fear leaving the house without having that special someone with you in case you have a panic attack. Agoraphobia is when you avoid driving because you feel you may lose control while driving. Agoraphobia hijacks our life and makes us feel stuck in our "safe place".
About Will Larkin
As a psychotherapist, I have a deep understanding of panic attacks and bouts of depression that can follow when you suffer with agoraphobia. In my early twenties, I suffered with agoraphobia to the point where I struggled to drive more than 75 miles in a three year time span. Panic and anxiety would grip me every time I attempted to drive, and what was once a simple and enjoyable activity soon became a daunting task that left me feeling homebound. The simple act of getting behind the wheel or going into a public place would turn into a heart-pounding ordeal.

I needed help.

Although I was on the path to become a therapist before my bout with agoraphobia, I was inspired to get help and take back control over my life. I sought out professional help and got back on the road. Armed with psychotherapy techniques and a newfound understanding of anxiety and how it works, I took control of my life and ridded myself of the paralyzing fear that came with agoraphobia. No longer would I feel the depressed emotions when I felt stuck in my anxiety like I was never going to feel better. Through hard work and auditing my thoughts and beliefs, I was able to regain control.

My Approach
I believe that every individual has the potential to live a fulfilling and meaningful life. My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, compassion, and collaboration. I work with my clients to help them gain insight into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we will develop practical strategies to overcome challenges and achieve your goals. I believe that therapy is a journey, and I am honored to be a part of your journey toward a greater well-being.
